Obituary for Frances (Faith) Hildebrand Frances (Faith) Hildebrand
Served With British Royal Navy, U.S. 12th Fleet Headquarters

Frances (Faith) Hildebrand, 82, of Lexington, died Monday, December 29, 2008.

She was born May 10, 1926 in Carlisle, England, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Winifred Allan Harrison.

After serving four and a half years in World War II as a Navy nurse in the British Royal Navy, she was then attached to the U.S. 12th Fleet Headquarters for two years.

She traveled extensively, including five and a half years in the Middle East, part of which time, working as a U.S. Medical Supervisor in Casablanca.

A lifelong animal lover, she raised and bred English bulldogs for 39 years.

She was a board member of the Rockbridge Animal Shelter for many years.

Surviving are her two sons, Mark Hope, and two daughters, Julie Pullen and Bonnie Bingler.

There will be no viewing at the funeral home and all services will be private.

Mrs. Hildebrand requested that donations be made to the SPCA Shelter, 10 Animal Place, Lexington, VA.

Arrangements are being handled by the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, Virginia.
