Obituary for Betty Reynolds Curtis Betty Reynolds Curtis
Affectionately Known As "Grandma" At Sharon Elementary School

Betty Reynolds Curtis, age 85, of 4709 Nicelytown Road, Clifton Forge, died Thursday, January 8, 2009 at Alleghany Regional Hospital, Low Moor.

She was born on December 7, 1923 in Alleghany County, Virginia, a daughter of the late John and Cora Griffith Reynolds.

She was a retired cafeteria worker, affectionately known as "Grandma" by all the children at Sharon Elementary School.

She was a member of Lone Star Advent Christian Church, where she was in the Suzie Davis Circle, the Senior Saints, and the adult Sunday school class.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Earl Curtis in August of 1963.

She is survived by a daughter, Fonda Curtis Marshall of Covington; a son, Tim Curtis of Austin, TX; three grandchildren: Michael Marshall, Lee Marshall and wife Bambi, and Amie Loving-Harpine and husband Steve; five great grandchildren: Damien Marshall, MacKenzie Kinney, Michaela Loving, Elizabeth Loving, and James Loving; a number of nieces and nephews, and many friends.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, with Reverend Doug Moore officiating. Interment will follow in Central Advent Christian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home. The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Lone Star Advent Christian Church Building Fund, 4704 Nicelytown Road, Clifton Forge, VA 24422.
