Worked With Southern Virginia University For 35 Years
Thelma Painter, 80, of Max Meadows, formerly of Buena Vista, departed to be with her Lord on January 10, 2009.
She was born in Alto, Virginia on December 10, 1928 and was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Painter, her father and mother, Henry and Dora Coleman, and her brother, Percy Coleman.
She is survived by two daughters: Debrar Sain of Max Meadows and Sandra Painter of Roanoke.
She was employed at Southern Virginia College for 35 years.
Funeral services will be held at the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home in Buena Vista on Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at 11 a.m., followed by interment at the Green Hill Cemetery in Buena Vista.
There will not be a family night. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rockbridge SPCA in honor of Thelma's love of animals.
