Obituary for Virginia Berg Toale Virginia Berg Toale
New York Native Lived In Lexington For More Than 25 Years

Virginia Berg Toale, widow of the late Philip R. Toale (Dec. 11/30/98), died on Friday, January 9, 2009 at Good Samaritan Hospital, West Islip, New York, of pneumonia, just two weeks before her 91st birthday.

Ginny was born in Brooklyn, NY and lived most of her life in the New York metropolitan area.

Ginny (with her husband) moved to Lexington, VA in 1977, following her retirement from the Freeport (Long Island) Public School System.

Ginny lived in Lexington, VA for more than 25 years. She was involved in the community as a member of the Lexington Women's Club and the Lexington Golf & Country Club. She actively participated in the Parish Community Life and Social Ministry at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church.

In 2003 she moved back to Long Island to be close to her children and has spent these last five years in their midst.

She is survived by a daughter, Jacquelyn Anne Little of East Hampton, NY, and two sons: Brian Richard of New York City and Jeffrey Robert of Oak Ridge, NJ.

She leaves behind four loving grandchildren: Christian, Stephen, Laura Ann and Christina, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

A celebration of her life and memorial farewell will be held by her family and close friends on her birthday in New York and in Virginia on her wedding anniversary. The family requests any donations be made to Meals for Shut-Ins, the American Cancer Society, or the charity of your choice.

The Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory of Lexington, Va. is handling the arrangements.
