Edgar Zirkle Bryant, 72, of Fairfield, died Saturday, January 17, 2009.

He was born December 19, 1936 in Nelson County, a son of the late Melvin Zirkle Bryant and Lois Helen Bradley Bryant.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Lee Campbell Bryant; two brothers, Glen and Robert Bryant, and a sister Christine Bryant.

Surviving are his children: Ronald Lee Bryant and wife, Faith of Raphine, and Fred Z. Bryant and wife, Kim of Fairfield; grandchildren: Benjamin Bryant, Aaron Bryant, and Samuel Bryant; sisters: Frances Rowe of Stuarts Draft, Betty Roberts of Montebello, and Phyllis Myrtle of Raphine; and brothers: Windell, Milton, and Gorman Bryant, all of Montebello.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at Mt. Paran Baptist Church with Rev. Luther Witt and Rev. Billy Coffey officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Nephews will be serving as pallbearers. There will be no visitation at the funeral home, but friends may come by the funeral home and pay their respects. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Mt. Paran Baptist Church.
