Obituary for Shirley Martin Hart Shirley Martin Hart
County Native Dies At Age 70

Shirley Martin Hart, 70, of Rockbridge Baths died Tuesday, January 20, 2009 in Roanoke Carillion Hospital.

She was born April 4, 1938 in Rockbridge County, a daughter of the late John C. and Hassie Mae Entsminger Martin.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold S. Hart and a sister, Elizabeth Martin.

Surviving are a son, John Raymond Hart and wife, Joann of Goshen; a daughter, Christine Wood and husband, Sheldon of Vesuvius; eight grandchildren: John Raymond Hart, Jr., Dakota Hart, Cheyanne Hart, Kerrigan Hart, all of Goshen, Cassandra Knick and husband, Will, Lexington, Trisha Wood, Jeffrey Brian Wood and Kurstin Wood, all of Vesuvius; great granddaughter, Taygan Hart; soon to be great grandson, Haven Skyler Wood; four sisters: May Lowe, Montvale; Thelma Lilly, Buena Vista, Mamie Floyd and husband, Kenneth, CA and Ola Westmoreland, Montvale; a brother, Rodney Martin and wife, Jean, Lexington; and a very dear and special in laws, Lawrence and Gladys Hart, Rockbridge Baths.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, January 23, 2009 at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel, Buena Vista, VA with Rev. Wyatt Mays officiating. Burial will follow in Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Lilly, Alvin Moore, Tommy Jones, Kenneth Martin, Wesley Wood and Josh Hill.

The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m. Thursday, January 22, 2009 at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Buena Vista, VA.
