Alleghany Native Dies At The Augusta Medical Center
Frances Marie Carpenter Nicely, 61, formerly of Covington, died Monday, January 26, 2009 at Augusta Medical Center in Fishersville.
She was born November 27, 1947 in Alleghany County, a daughter of Mildred Taylor Carpenter of Covington and the late Lawrence E. Carpenter.
She was a resident of the Ruxton Home in Staunton.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by a daughter, Angela Jerman Biggs and husband, Keith of Fuquay-Varina, NC; a son, William Allen Jerman and fiancˇ Angel Hoffman of Covington; two granddaughters, Rachel Schliebe and Cari Biggs; a grandson, Bryan Biggs, all of Fuquay-Varina, NC; three sisters, Linda Hippert and husband, Richie; Gail Elson and husband, Jeff, and Carol Lipes, all of Covington; a brother, Michael Carpenter and wife, Hilda of Randallstown, MD; and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, January 29 at Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Michael Fleenor officiating. Friends wishing to attend the service should assemble at Arritt Funeral Home by 12:30 p.m.
