Audrey Murel Johnson, 97, of Buena Vista, died Thursday, January 29, 2009 in the Golden Living Center.

She was born June 16, 1911 in Buena Vista, a daughter of the late Silas and Kate Henson Gilbert.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Johnson; a son, Robert Lee Johnson, Jr.; and a daughter, Maxine Oppedisano.

Mrs. Johnson was a member of Stone Church of the Brethren, Buena Vista.

Surviving is a daughter, Meri Ellen Scott of Buena Vista; seven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, January 31, 2009 at Green Hill Cemetery with Russ Barb officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Buena Vista, VA.
