Evelyn Marie Barnes, 89 of Lexington, died Thursday, January 29, 2009.

She was born July 19, 1919 in Camden, NJ, a daughter of the late Charles Smith and Edith Mitchell Smith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence V. Barnes and a son, Budd Barnes.

Mrs. Barnes was a member of Collierstown Presbyterian Church where she was a member of C & F Circle.

Surviving are a two daughters, Barbara D. Trovato and husband, Vincent, of Lexington and Nancy L. Hamilton and husband, Herbert, of Raphine; a daughter-in-law, JoAnne Barnes of FL; a sister, Edith Mullen of NJ; six grandchildren: John Trovato and wife, Betty of Lexington, David Trovato and wife, Cindy, Skip Hamilton and wife, Marci, all of NJ; Kathleen Baldwin and husband, Mark of Waynesboro, Jennifer Gray and husband, Charles of NJ and Jeff Barnes of FL; and ten great grandchildren.

Services were conducted privately by Rev. Skip Hastings.
