Warren Olden King, died, Thursday, January 29, 2009 at the Wytheville County Hospital.

He was born December 9, 1920 in Alleghany County, a son of the late Wilbur G. and Emma Evans King.

Mr. King retired from Hercules Powder Inc. in Covington, Georgia.

He was a member of the All Nations Church in Wytheville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.

Mr. King is survived by his wife of 57 years, Gladys Wright King of Wytheville; two daughters, Linda Messer and her husband, Charles of Wytheville and Anita McElroy and her husband, Keith of Cary, NC.; one granddaughter, Sheri Simasek of Maitland, FL; two great grandchildren, Walker Simasek and Nathaniel Simask, both of Maitland, FL; one sister, Velma Armentrout and her husband, Fred of Fuquay Vairna, NC; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 1, 2009 in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Carl Bowles officiating.

The interment will follow in Lone Star Cemetery.

The family will receive their friends Saturday evening from 6:00 unitl 8:00 p.m. at the Arritt Funeral Home, Covington, Virginia.
