Richard Lewis McKemy, 62, a lifelong Lexington resident, died Saturday, February 8, 2009 at Golden Living Center, Buena Vista, after a lengthy illness.

He was born December 31, 1946, son of the late William L. McKemy and Ethel Armstrong McKemy.

He was self-employed for most of his life.

Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Doris McKemy Moore of Buena Vista; a brother, Edwin L. McKemy and wife, Amanda of Lexington; and a niece, Mrs. Debora Moore Leftwich of Roanoke.

Funeral services will be private.

The family will receive friends at his Lexington home on February 14, 2009 from 5 - 7 p.m.
