Obituary for Mrs. Louise T. Johenning Mrs. Louise T. Johenning
Worked With Rockbridge National Bank For 30 Years

Mrs. Louise T. Johenning, died at her Lexington home on Monday evening, February 9, 2009.

She was 103.

Born in Lexington October 1, 1905, she was the daughter of the late C. L. Tyree and the late Grace Brown Tyree.

Mrs. Johenning was a member of the Lexington Presbyterian Church.

She was one of the first female bank officers in the state of Virginia, working at the Rockbridge National Bank, now SunTrust Bank, for upwards of 30 years.

She was also a charter member of the county's Business and Professional Women's Club, and was a member of other area social and civic clubs.

Mrs. Johenning was married to Lynwood M. Pullen until his death in 1968, and to John L. "Tricky" Johenning until his death in 1984.

Mrs. Johenning is survived by her son, James L. Pullen, and his wife, Jessie, of Rockbridge Baths; by her daughter, Patricia L. Pullen, and her husband, Jim Kaufman of Charlottesville; by her grandchildren: Bob and Renee Pullen of Rockbridge Baths; Sandra and Bruce Duncan of Murfreesboro, TN; Lesley Myers; and James and Brenda Myers, all of Charlottesville; by her great grandchildren: Casey and Peter Wills of Roanoke; Chelsey and Justin Dunn of Harrisonburg; and Michael Myers of Charlottesville; and by a number of cousins.

Donations to Hospice in Mrs. Johenning's name would be a welcome tribute.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 14, 2009 at Lexington Presbyterian Church with Rev. Deborah Klein officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends from 5 - 7 p.m. Friday, February 13, 2009 at Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, VA.
