Was Beloved Little League Football Coach For Sharon Area Teams

Louis Emanuel "Louie" Nicely, age 53, of 202 Wood Hollow Road, Nicelytown, Clifton Forge, died Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at Alleghany Regional Hospital, Low Moor.

Born October 15, 1955 in Alleghany County, Virginia, he was a son of the late Grover Monroe Nicely, Sr. and Myrle Morgan Nicely.

He was a signalman for CSX Transportation and was member of Lone Star Advent Christian Church and the Sharon Volunteer Fire Department.

He was a beloved little league football coach of the Sharon A and B league teams.

He loved hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors, but most especially loved his wife and children.

He is survived by his wife, Tammy Buchanan Nicely of Nicelytown, Clifton Forge; two sons, Blair Louis Nicely of Clifton Forge and Chad Edward Nicely and fiancee, Megan Smith of Clifton Forge; a sister, Ida Mae Sarafandi and husband, Abdul; and two brothers, Grover M. Nicely, Jr. and wife, Ruth and Adali G. Nicely and wife, Debbie, all of Nicelytown, Clifton Forge; a grandchild, Peyton Sierra Nicely; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral service will be held on Friday at 2:00 p.m. in Lone Star Advent Christian Church, Clifton Forge with Reverend Doug Moore officiating.

Interment will follow in Sharon Baptist Church Cemetery, Clifton Forge. Pallbearers will be Greg Scott, Larry Anglin, Jr., Bobby Davis, Steve Peery, Eddie Putnam, Mitch Vess, Steve Vess, Mark Vess, and David Buchanan. Honorary pallbearers will be all other nephews in the family.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge and other times at the residence, 202 Wood Hollow Road, Clifton Forge, VA.

The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Sharon Volunteer Fire Department, 3814 Longdale Furnace Road, Clifton Forge, VA 24422.
