Faith Mountain Baptist Church Pastor Dies At Age 64

William Bryan "Bud" Hall, age 64, of 516 Sunnybrook Road, Fairfield, Virginia, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, February 16, 2009 at Augusta Medical Center in Fishersville, Virginia.

Born February 3, 1945 in Clifton Forge, Virginia, he was a son of the late William Houston "Kinkie" Hall and Sybil Lawler Hall.

He was a 1963 graduate of Clifton Forge High School and received a Bachelor of Theology degree in 1979 from Hyles Anderson College in Hammond, Indiana.

He was currently pastor of Faith Mountain Baptist Church in Lexington, Virginia, having served there for ten years, and was formerly pastor of Peoples Baptist Church in Mansfield, Ohio and Deerfield Baptist Church in Deerfield.

He was also employed by Lawrence Transportation Systems in Roanoke for eleven years and was part owner of Hall Transfer and Storage in Clifton Forge, which was the family business.

He was an avid UVA fan.

He is survived by his wife of forty-five years, Nancy Capps Hall of Fairfield; three children, Christopher B. Hall and fiancee, Susan Cahoon of Clifton Forge; Shannon H. McGhee and husband, Matt of Moneta; and Matthew H. Hall and wife, Tracey of Warm Springs; a sister, Victoria H. Broughman and husband, Sonny of Richmond, two brothers, John L. "Gemmer" Hall and wife, Kim of Eagle Rock; and Gregory L. Hall and wife, Sheryl of Fincastle; six grandchildren: Tori Shlanta, Alyssa McGhee, Kylee Hall, Kenzie Hall, Nicole Broughfman, and Taylor Broughfman; his mother-in-law, Elsie Capps of Clifton Forge; brother-in-law, Benny Capps and wife, Sandra of Covington; sister-in-law, Geneva Welch and husband. Roger of Flint Hill; and nieces and nephews, Lance Broughman, Jennifer Aghazadeh, John Hall, Nathan Hall, Jason Miller, Jayson Capps, Ryan Welch, and Courtney Harrington.

A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. in Faith Mountain Baptist Church in Lexington, with Pastor Lloyd Camp officiating.

Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Clifton Forge. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge. The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Faith Mountain Baptist Church, 270 Valley Pike, Lexington, VA 24450, or to the American Cancer Society, Alleghany Highlands Division, C/O Karen Buzzard, 807 McCormick Boulevard, Clifton Forge, VA 24422.
