Madison College Grad Taught In Lexington, Bedford

Martha McKee (Kee) Anderson, 84, of Lexington, died Thursday, February 26, 2009 in Kendal at Lexington.

She was born October 16, 1924 in Rockbridge County, daughter of the late Robert Teague Anderson and Nancy Dunlap Anderson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Milton D. Anderson.

Miss Anderson was a member of Oxford Presbyterian Church, an alumna of Madison College and taught in Bedford and Lexington.

She was an inspiration to all who knew her.

Surviving are two nieces, Carol Rose of Dahlgren, VA and Martha Hust of Amissville, VA.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 1, 2009 at Oxford Presbyterian Church with Rev. Horace Douty officiating.

The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall after the service. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Oxford Presbyterian Church, Permanent Memorial Fund, 143 Oxford Lane, Lexington, VA 24450, Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church Building Fund, c/o Courtney Deacon, 510 Valley Pike, Lexington, VA 24450 or Effinger Volunteer Fire and Rescue, 2824 Collierstown Road, Lexington, VA 24450.

Arrangements are being handled by the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, VA.
