Mallow Presbyterian Church Member Dies At Age 87

Elsie Craft Crush, 87, of 3026 Mallow Road, Covington, Virginia, died Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at the Brian Center in Low Moor, VA.

She was born June 20, 1921 in Botetourt County, a daughter of the late Howard and Sally Taylor Craft.

Mrs. Crush was a member of Mallow Presbyterian Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, H.R. Crush, Jr. in 1988 and also by two brothers, Wesley Craft and Freemont Craft.

Surviving are her son, Malcom B. Crush and Judy Paxton of Covington; two grandchildren, Phyllis Bartley and her husband, Daryl of Covington and Howard Crush and his wife, Melissa of Covington; three great grandchildren: Ty Bartley, Emily Bartley, and Mason Bartley, all of Covington; and one sister, Isabelle Lovell of Troutville.

In keeping with Mrs. Crush's wishes, a private funeral was held Thursday, February 26, 2009 in Alleghany Memorial Park with the Rev. Gary Marshall officiating.

Pallbearers were Howard Crush, Daryl Bartley, Wayne Pullen, Howard Pullen, Jerome Lovell and Steve Lovell.

The Arritt Funeral Home, Covington, Virginia, handled the arrangements.
