Obituary for Roy Loving Coleman, Jr. Roy Loving Coleman, Jr.
World War II Veteran Was BV Public Works Director

Roy Loving Coleman, Jr., 82, of Buena Vista, died Friday, February 27, 2009 in Stonewall Jackson Hospital.

He was born October 19, 1926 in Rockbridge County, a son of the late Roy Coleman, Sr. and Lillian Wilmer Coleman.

Mr. Coleman served in the U S Army during World War II and the Korean conflict.

He retired after 37 years with the City of Buena Vista as a public works director.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Deacon Coleman after 41 years of marriage, and also two brothers, James and Harold Coleman; and two sisters, Vivian C. Shafer and Pauline C. Cartolaro.

Surviving are his wife, Dreama Carter Coleman; two sons, Donnie Wayne Coleman and wife, Betty Jo, and Larry Ronald Coleman and wife, Marianna, all of Buena Vista; two step-sons, Richard E. Hill, Jr. and wife, Ruby Ann, and Danny R. Carter, Jr., all of Buena Vista; one step-daughter, Jennifer Jarvis and Tommy Craft of Lexington; two brothers, Curtis William Coleman and wife, Minnie, and Paul Jerry Coleman, Sr. and wife, Linda, all of Buena Vista; one sister, Faye Davis of Buena Vista; ten grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 2, 2009 at Buena Vista Pentecostal Holiness Church with Pastor W. A. Mills, Rev. W. David Bain and Rev. Bart Hellmuth officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 - 7 p.m. Sunday, March 1, 2009 at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Buena Vista, Virginia.
