Tracy Cummings Vess, 46, of Lexington, died Saturday, February 28, 2009.

She was born October 8, 1962 in Lexington, a daughter of the late Ernest Oliver Cummings and Ann Turner Cummings.

Surviving are her husband, Talbert M. Vess; two children, Jacob R. McCormick and Jessica M. McCormick, of Lexington; a step-son, Christopher M. Vess, of Lexington; a brother, Gary H. Cummings, of Denver, CO; and numerous special friends who provided love and support during these last months.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 7, 2009 at Harrison Funeral Chapel with Rev. Gary Short officiating. Burial will be private and there will be no visitation at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tracy Cummings Vess Memorial Trust Fund, Bank of Botetourt, 65 East Midland Trail, P. O. Box 711, Lexington, VA 24450 or Rockbridge Area Hospice, P. O. Box 948, Lexington, VA.
