IBM Business Consulting Recruiter Dies At Age 33

Christopher "Chris" Michael Carter, 33, of Arlington, VA passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at the Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington.

He was born June 1, 1975 in Lexington, VA, the youngest child of the late Patricia M. Carter and Jesse Carter, of Lexington.

Chris graduated from James Madison University and was a member of the Alpha Kappa Lambda fraternity.

He was employed by IBM as a Business Consulting Recruiter.

Chris leaves behind his siblings: Troy Hatcher, of West, VA; Terri C. Sledd and husband, Maurice; Tammi C. Stewart and husband, Leonard; a nephew, Marcus Sledd; a niece, Sydney Thomas; a grandfather, Winfred (Bill) Dickerson; two aunts: Lois Dickerson (Herman), Mary Massie (Jerry); other family members, as well as fraternity "brothers" and many other friends who loved him and were his family away from home.

There will be a celebration of his life at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 28, 2009 at Harrison Funeral Chapel. Private burial will follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Richmond Office, 520 E. Main St., Richmond, Va. 23219. The family will receive friends from 1 - 2 p.m. Saturday, March 28, 2009 at the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, VA.
