Julia Ann Morgan "Julie" Powell, 43, of Roanoke, Virginia, died Sunday, March 22, 2009 at Carlion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

She was born July 21, 1965 in Alleghany County, a daughter of Bonnie Knighton Bocook of Roanoke and James Morgan, Jr. of Lewisburg, WV.

She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents, Helen and George Knighton and James and Frances Morgan, and also by an uncle, David Knighton.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by a sister, Jo Ann Sammons, of Roanoke; two brothers and sister-in-law, Richard and Karen Morgan of Boones Mill and James Morgan III of Roanoke; four nephews, Danny Morgan, Douglas Morgan, James Morgan IV and Josh Morgan; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

The funeral service was held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at the graveside in Alleghany Memorial Park the Rev. William Harris officiating.

Arritt Funeral Home in Covington handled the arrangements.
