George Mitchell Hartless, 81, of Lexington, died Sunday, April 5, 2009.

He was born July 4, 1927 in Rockbridge County, a son of the late Hite Hartless, Sr. and Elizabeth Frances Gordon Hartless.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

Mr. Hartless attended Timber Ridge ARP Church and retired from Frank's Well & Pump Company.

Surviving are a brother, Hite Hartless, Jr. of Staunton and a sister, Helen Riley of Lexington; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at Harrison Funeral Chapel with Rev. Robert Gordon officiating. Burial will follow in Timber Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 - 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, VA.
