Loving Mother Was Oronoco Brethren Church Member

Eunice Lee Coleman Henson, age 85, of Buena Vista, died on Saturday, April 25, 2009 at the Golden Living Center.

She was born June 19, 1923 in Amherst County, the daughter of the late Lindsey and Lucy Pearl Coleman.

She was a member of the Oronoco Brethren Church.

She was a loving and dear mother and an avid lover of flowers and gardening.

Preceding her in death are her husband, Rudy Henson; a son, Larry David Henson; a daughter, Carrie Odessa Henson; and six stepchildren: Rachel Henson, Eunice Humphries, Cecil Stinnett, Nellie Carter, Claude Henson, and Myrtle Hughes.

Surviving are two stepsons: Jay Ray Henson and Raymond Henson; seven daughters: Edith Gunter and husband, Garry of Gladstone; Barbara Catlett and husband, Freddie; Thelma Henson; Bonnie Clements and husband, Ronnie, all of Buena Vista; Betty Jarvis and husband, Bruce of Glade Hill; Dorothy White and husband, Charles of Glasgow; and Mary Jane Henson of Kalispell, Montana; 3 sons: Earl Henson of Gladstone; Robert (Apple) Henson of Buena Vista; and Danny Henson and wife, Doris of Waynesboro, VA.

She had 19 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Doris Hartless of Amherst and Rosa Painter of Buena Vista; and 2 brothers: Claude Coleman and wife, Dorothy of Buena Vista; and Howard Coleman and wife, Dora of Amherst; and sister-in-law, Judy Coleman.

Preceding her in death were three brothers: Kirby, Frank and Raymond Coleman, and a sister, Ruby Humphries.

A funeral service was conducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home with the Rev. Arnold Bradley officiating. Burial followed at the Green Hill Cemetery.

The family received friends from 12-2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home. Pallbearers were grandchildren and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Buena Vista Rescue Squad or the Rockbridge Area Hospice.

Arrangements were being handled by the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Buena Vista, Virginia.
