Obituary for Ruby Sheets Miller Ruby Sheets Miller
Retired As Clerk After 30 Years At Covington Post Office

Ruby Sheets Miller, 96, of Westwood, died Saturday night, April 25, 2009 at the Woodlands Nursing Home in Clifton Forge.

Mrs. Miller was born December 16, 1912 at Stokesville in Augusta County, a daughter of the late Walter McClure Sheets and Rose Etta Byer Sheets.

She had retired in 1973 as a postal clerk after 30 years of service with the U. S. Postal Service at the Covington Post Office.

Ruby was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and of the Women's Circle of the church.

She was a longtime member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy.

She enjoyed antiques and going to auction sales searching for treasures.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Miller, in 1959.

Surviving are a number of cousins.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the graveside in Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Jamie B. Pharr.

Family and friends should gather at Arritt Funeral Home, Covington, Virginia, before the service to go to the cemetery.
