Obituary for James Thomas "Jim" Lord James Thomas "Jim" Lord
Air Force Veteran Worked With The Clifton Forge Water Treatment Facility

James Thomas "Jim" Lord, age 54, of 701 Muddy Pike Road, Clifton Forge, died Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at his residence.

Born July 11, 1954 in San Diego, California, he was a son of the late Thomas Cotton Lord and Mary Louise Tahash Lord.

He served in the United States Air Force.

He was a former employee of the Clifton Forge Water Treatment Facility, a certified electrician, a licensed general contractor, and was currently working at the Rivanna Water Facility in Charlottesville.

He was attending Central Advent Christian Church, and while there, dedicated his life to Christ and asked not for his healing grace, but for eternal salvation.

In addition to his wife, Jacqueline "Jackie" Lee Lord of Clifton Forge, he is survived by two sons, Norman Knox and wife, Nola of Covington, and Michael Ragsdale and wife, Joanna of California; a sister, Connie Ball of Pelham, NC; a brother, Ray Brees of Eminence, KY; three grandchildren, Austin Knox, Christian Knox, and Justin "J.T." Knox, and a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, with Reverend Ed Mansfield, Reverend Gene Peters, and Reverend Ed West officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Clifton Forge.

Pallbearers will be Neal Norris, Tom Greenwood, Zach Greenwood, Paul "P.R." Creasy, Mike Creasy, and John Riley. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Friday at Nicely Funeral Home and other times at the residence of Tom and Jane Greenwood, 308 Main Street, Clifton Forge, VA. The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Mountain Regional Hospice Volunteers, P.O. Box 637, Clifton Forge, VA 24422.
