Obituary for James Leroy "Butch" Nicely, Jr. James Leroy "Butch" Nicely, Jr.
Concrete Finisher Was Sharon Baptist Church Member

James Leroy "Butch" Nicely, Jr., age 60, of 2824 Libwood Ave, Richmond, and formerly of Clifton Forge, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2009 in Chippenham Medical Center in Richmond.

Born July 21, 1948, he was a son of the late James Leroy Nicely, Sr. and Virginia Deisher Nicely.

He was a concrete finisher who worked for George Vaughn Construction for many years, as well as other contractors.

He was a member of Sharon Baptist Church and the National Rifle Association, and loved hunting, fishing, and the Washington Redskins.

He is survived by two brothers, Benny Nicely and wife, Evelyn, and Paul Nicely, all of Chesterfield; four sisters: Mary Cooke and husband, Nicky of Chesterfield, Jane Brackenridge and husband, Monte of Clifton Forge, Janice Taylor and husband, Robbie of Amelia, and Sandy Wheeler and husband, Ronnie of Matoaca; nine nieces and nephews, and six great nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted on Friday at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Grover Nicely officiating. Interment will follow in Central Advent Christian Cemetery, Clifton Forge. Pallbearers will be Carl Furry, Jim Nicely, Mike Nicely, John Hall, Glenn Mays, and Ted Wilhelm. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, Virginia.
