Patsy Gilbert Brown, 70, formerly of Buena Vista, Virginia, died at her home in Christiansburg after a long struggle with cancer on Saturday, May 9, 2009.

Daughter of Katherine Edwards Gilbert and the late Woodrow Wilson Gilbert, she was born in Buena Vista on January 10, 1939.

Patsy was a graduate of Parry McCluer High School, Class of Ô56, and retired from Sears Company, with over 30 years of service.

She was preceded in death by her beloved best friends: Ginger, her German Shepherd, and Peanut, her Chihuahua.

Patsy was survived by three sons: Jay Brown and wife, Sharon of Virginia Beach; Josh Brown and Derek Barton, of Christiansburg, two daughters; Gail Angus and husband, John of Green Cove Springs, FL; and JoBeth Brown of Christiansburg; also surviving her are three brothers: Wayne, Keith, and Jack Gilbert; and five grandchildren: Megan, Dustin, Betsy, Jake, and Cheyenne, and two great-grandchildren, Kaiden, and Sidney.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home, Buena Vista with the Rev. Sheldon Sorrels and Rev. Butch Grow officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home, Buena Vista.
