Obituary for Frances Virginia Murray Nuckols Frances Virginia Murray Nuckols
Devoted Homemaker Worked At Local Library, Founded Club

Frances Virginia Murray Nuckols, the daughter of the late Walter Eugene Murray and Nell Arthur Murray, was born on February 11, 1920 in Clayton, NC.

She spend the next 88 years in Lexington, Virginia.

Frances wsa a devoted homemaker, lifelong member of Trinity United Methodist Church, worked for years at the Rockbridge Regional Library and she and her husband were the founding members of the Tri-Brook Country Club.

She enjoyed painting classes with Ms. Bob Lackey, playign bridge and afternoons by the Maury River with her family and friends.

While spending most of her adult life at Maple Grove Dairy, she spent countless hours making beautiful arrangements of flowers lovingly planted by her husband in her very own cutting garden.

Frances passed away June 13, 2009, surrounded by her beloved children, Richard Spottswood Nuckols Jr. and wife, Emily, Vicki Nuckols Kruse and W. Lawrence Nuckols.

She leaves behind her devoted husband of 71 years, Richard Spottswood Nuckols Sr.; and her grandchildren: Jennifer N. Brown and husband, Eddie; J. Stuart Kruse and wife, Shermin; Jeffrey S. Nuckols and wife, Gammon; and Justin L. Nuckols.

Also, her great grandchildren, Tori Nuckols, Matthew R. Brown; and many beloved family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at the Trinity United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tony Nix officiating. Burial will follow at the Stonewall Jackson Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, June 15, 2009 at the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory.

Arrangements are being handled by the Harrison Funeral Home and Crematory, Lexington VA.
