CHESNEE, SC - William "Bill" Kenney Clements, 69, of 209 Cherry Road, Chesnee, went to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, June 9, 2009.

Born April 20, 1940, to the late Leonard and Ruth Clements in Vesuvius, VA, he graduated from Parry McCluer High School in Buena Vista, VA in 1959 and received his Bachelors Degree in Accounting from Virginia Polytechnic Institute in Blacksburg, VA in 1964.

Bill was retired from careers with W. R. Grace and Company Zonolite Division and Jostens Corporation.

He served for twenty-six years as Minister of Music at Clifton First Baptist Church and recently retired as Associate Pastor and Minister of Music at Gateway to Life Baptist Tabernacle in Chesnee.

He is survived by his wife of thirty-nine years, Joyce J. Clements; one son, Toney Clements; and one grandson, Ian Clements. Surviving brothers and sisters are Leonard Ray Clements of New Port Richie, FL; Wendy Browning of Blacksburg, VA; Joyce Elaine Thompson of Lynchburg, VA; Leslie Clements of Buena Vista, VA; Betty Mayo of Buena Vista, VA; and Mike Clements of Buena Vista, VA.

Mr. Clements was predeceased by two sisters, Mary Clements and Sue Watts.

The family received friends Thursday, June 11, 2009 at Eggers Funeral Home of Chesnee.

Funeral services were held 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 12, 2009 at Gateway to Life Baptist Tabernacle officiated by the Rev. William Fae Walker and the Rev. Larry Fleming. Burial followed in Prospect Cemetery, Gaffney.
