Obituary for Paul Edward Crawford Paul Edward Crawford
Army Veteran Worked With MeadWestvaco Corp.

Paul Edward Crawford, 82, of 1437 S. Howard Ave., Covington, Virginia, died Sunday, June 21, 2009 at his residence.

He was born June 20, 1926 in Alleghany County, a son of the late Paul R. and Pearl Stevens Crawford.

Mr. Crawford served with United States Army during World War II.

He retired 1992 for the #5 Paper Machine at MeadWestvaco, Corp.

He was a member of Mallow Presbyterian Church, where he had served as both a Deacon and an Elder.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Crawford was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Agnor Crawford, as well as two brothers, Leo Crawford and Alfred Crawford.

Surviving are two sisters, Faye Robinson and her husband, Paul of Elkins, West Virginia and Edith Summer of Verona ; several nieces and nephews and a special caregiver and loving friend, Teresa Wolfe.

The funeral service was held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gary Marshall officiating.

The interment will be made in Alleghany Memorial Park.

Active pallbearers were Steve Hause, Bub Wolfe, Billy Powell, Travis Powell, George Persinger and Melvin Persinger. Honorary pallbearer will be Bobby Witt.

The Arritt Funeral Home, Covington, Virginia, handled the arrangements.
