Obituary for Thomas Hannagan McSherry Thomas Hannagan McSherry
Served With Army Air Corps In The Asia, India Theatres; Retired As CPA For Clifton Forge Motors.

Thomas Hannagan McSherry, age 87, of 800 W. Ridgeway St, Scott Hill Apartments, Clifton Forge, died Monday, June 22, 2009 at Alleghany Regional Hospital in Low Moor.

Born February 10, 1922 in Clifton Forge, he was a son of the late John Francis and Lucy Moore Dill McSherry.

He served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II in China, Burma, and the India Theatre for three years.

He retired after thirty-four years as a Certified Public Account for Clifton Forge Motor Company and attended Glory Land Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of forty-two years, Beulah Herron Jeffries McSherry; a son, Thomas O. McSherry; two sisters, Frances Knghton and Mercer "Johnny" Oliver; and a brother, Elwood McSherry.

He is survived by two daughters, Marcy Gunter of Salem and Lindy Boley of Roanoke; a son, Timothy McSherry and wife, Leisa of Roanoke; a step daughter, Judith Bailey and husband, William of Moncks Corner, SC; three step sons, Montie Jeffries and wife, Ella of Glen Wilton; William Jeffries and wife, Cristy of Iron Gate; and James Jeffries and wife, Margaret of Iron Gate; two sisters, Julia Anderson of Clifton Forge and Jean Smith of Covington; and a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A graveside funeral service was held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in Mountain View Cemetery, Clifton Forge with Reverend W. Pembroke Hall officiating. Interment followed. There was no formal visitation. However, friends may call any time at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge. The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Clifton Forge Rescue Squad Memorial Fund, P. O. Box 419, Clifton Forge, VA 24422.
