Ruby Goolsby Burch, 91, of Buena Vista, died Thursday, July 2, 2009 at Golden Living Center.

She was born September 22, 1917 in Rockbridge County, a daughter of the late Samuel L. and Minnie Ayers Goolsby.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Raymond Berry; their son, Ronald Berry and daughter, Carol Powell; second husband, Charlie Burch.

Mrs. Burch was a member of First Brethren Church, Buena Vista and was retired from Burlington Industries.

Surviving are her step-children, Harold Burch of Buena Vista; Gladys Hart of Rockbridge Baths; H. L. Burch of Altavista; and Mattie Bergener of Rockbridge Baths; grandchildren, Kim Whitten of Buena Vista, Jeff Berry and wife, Tamara of Glasgow; John Berry and wife, Cindy of Buena Vista; son-in-law, David Powell of Glasgow; daughter-in-law, Brenda Berry of Natural Bridge; seven great grandchildren; one great, great grandchild; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 6, 2009 at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel with Pastor Christian Becker officiating.

Burial will follow in Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
