Canada Native Was Employed By NASA; Was Korean War Veteran

Robert Francis (Bob) Anderson, age 77, of 800 Ridgeway Street, Scott Hill Apartments, Clifton Forge, died Friday, July 3, 2009 at The Golden Living Center, Clifton Forge.

Born November 4, 1931 in Canada, Bob was a son of the late Thomas and Albina Marquis Anderson.

He became a citizen of the United States on July 2, 1949 and served in the United States Navy during the Korean War.

He was employed by NASA and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3219 of Hampton.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas William Anderson.

He is survived by two daughters, Shari Brown and husband, David of Clifton Forge and Jodi Ward and husband, Michael of Yorktown; a son, Gary Anderson and wife, Cathy of Yorktown; a sister, Gail Santaniello and husband, Bob of East Long Meadow, MA; eight grandchildren: Melissa Guill and Steven Guill of Newport News, Jennifer Brown and Andrew Brown of Clifton Forge, and Brittany Ward, Christopher Ward, Erin Anderson, and Kelsey Anderson of Yorktown; a great grandson, Trevor Brown of Clifton Forge; a nephew, Jason Santaniello of Holy Oak, MA; and a dear friend, Phyllis Anderson of Hampton, VA.

He will be sadly missed by many family and friends.

A memorial service was held on Saturday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Pastor Bill Dillon officiating. The family received friends one hour prior to the service at Nicely Funeral Home.
