James Cary Broughman, 53, of Vesuvius, died Tuesday, July 7, 2009 in University of Virginia Hospital.

He was born October 8, 1955 a son of Arthur Cary Broughman and the late Sara Jane Templeton Broughman.

Surviving are his wife, Patricia Lee Broughman; four children, Joshua Brandin Broughman, Staunton; Michael Wayne Dill, Jr., Vesuvius; Amber Lee Higgins, Raphine and Ashley Dawn Higgins, Mint Spring; two sisters, Betty Jo Nuckols and Belinda Austin, both of Buena Vista; three grandchildren, Sharaylynn, Tristian, and Allison.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 10, 2009 at Harrison Funeral Chapel with Rev. Dean Staton officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 Ð 8 p.m. Thursday, July 9, 2009 at Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, VA.
