Was Brian Center Dietary Aide

Mary Ann Overstreet Sparks, 59, of 3210 Douthat Road, Covington, Virginia died Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at her residence.

She was born September 18, 1949 in Botetourt County, a daughter of Mary Gibson Overstreet Sisson Sparks of Roanoke and the late Lawrence Edward Overstreet.

Mrs. Sparks was employed as a Dietary Aide at the Brian Center in Low Moor and was a member of Midway Christian Church.

She was also preceded in her step-father, William Sparks.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Arnold W. Sparks of Clifton Forge; two daughters, Gayle Chumney of Richmond and Kaitlin Classey of Catawba; three sons, Robert Chumney and his wife, Candace of Clifton Forge; Mike Chumney of Blackstone and Joshua Sparks of Staunton; 10 grandchildren; one sister, Tammy Jessup of Vinton; three brothers, Larry Overstreet of Roxboro, NC; Dennis Overstreet of Clifton Forge and Tommy Sisson of Lynchburg and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Fisher officiating.

The interment will be made in the Old Dominion Memorial Park in Troutville at 1:00 p.m. Friday. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. at Arritt Funeral Home, Covington, Virginia.
