Odell Byers Reynolds, 83, formerly of Buena Vista, died Saturday, July 18, 2009 at her home in Stuarts Draft.

She was born May 21, 1926 in Amherst County.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Jean Byers of Stuarts Draft; one grandson, Wayne Byers and wife, Tina of Waynesboro; one granddaughter, Cyndi Garrison and husband, Patrick of Harrisonburg; four great grandchildren: Lacey and Amber Drumheller, Laura Byers and Allan Garrison; two sisters: Essie Byers Lanum of Buena Vista; Ruth Bradley of Forks of Buffalo; three brothers: Ray Byers of Bedford; Rev. Earl Byers of Columbia, NC; and Berry Lawhorne of New Jersey.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 20, 2009 at the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home.

A celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the AMC Hospice of the Shenandoah, P. O. Box 215, Fishersville, VA 22939, Stuarts Draft Rescue Squad or the Oronoco Church of the Brethren Building Fund.
