Marion Mary Martis, 93, of Lexington, died Thursday, August 6, 2009 in The Stonewall Jackson Hospital.

She was born October 17, 1915 in New Jersey, a daughter of the late Nicolo and Maria DeMonte Salerno.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Frank Martis.

Mrs. Martis was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.

Surviving are three sons, Robert Edward Martis of Lexington, Steven Kenneth Martis of Secaucus, NJ and Richard David Martis of Melbourne, FL; a brother, Lawrence Salerno of Raleigh, NJ; two grandchildren, Erin Fogarty and Jaime Clark.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 8, 2009 in Stonewall Jackson Cemetery. A Memorial Christian Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Father Joseph D'Aurora officiating.

Arrangements are being handled by the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, Virginia.
