Larry Arthur Smith, 53, of Lexington, died Monday, August 17, 2009 at his home.

Mr. Smith was born March 117, 1956 in Rockbridge County, a son of the late Lawrence Arthur Smith and Maggie Hinkle Smith.

Larry worked at VMI in food service for 39 years.

He was preceded in death by two sisters: Beatrice Burch and Shelia Tolley.

Surviving is one sister, Cindy S. Hillberry of Natural Bridge.

Graveside services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 20, 2009 in the Rockbridge Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Lewis McDaniel officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Arrangements are being handled by the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home, Buena Vista, Virginia.
