Obituary for Patsy Slough Cole Patsy Slough Cole
Was Retired Wachovia Bank Teller

Patsy Slough Cole, 70, of Buena Vista, died Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Rockbridge County on November 17, 1938.

Mrs. Cole was a member of Buena Vista Baptist Church.

She was the daughter of the late Lawrence Slough and Margaret McCullough Humphries.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a step-father, Dennis Humphries; four sisters: Marguerite Wolfe, Peggy Baker, Jeanette Slough, and Dorothy Brown; and step brothers and sisters, James Humphries, Edward Humphries, and Thelma Herring Hawkins.

Patsy retired from Wachovia as a bank teller.

Mrs. Cole is survived by her husband, William "Billy" Cole; two sons, Danny Cole, and wife Donna, of Buena Vista, and Johnny Cole, and wife, Pam, all of Buena Vista; and one daughter, Carolee Cole, and special friend Greg Camden, of Buena Vista. Also surviving is one brother, Lawrence Slough, and wife, Helen; sister, Carolyn Rader and husband, Frank; sister, Faye Cudd and husband, Marvin; step brothers: Lawrence Humphries, Odell Humphries, and Ray Humphries; and grandchildren, Dallas and Kelsey Cole.

A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2009 at the Buena Vista Baptist Church with the Rev. Roy Thomas, and Rev. David Bain officiating. Burial followed at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at any time at the family's residence, 2474 Cedar Ave., Buena Vista. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Parry McCluer High School football team.

Arrangements were handled by the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home, Buena Vista, Virginia.
