Lacy Dale Sams Jr., 61, of Glasgow, died Tuesday, August 18, 2009 in the Stonewall Jackson Hospital.
He was born September 9, 1947 in Covington, Va, a son of the late Lacy (Dale) Sams, Sr. and Doris Gray Kessinger Sams.
Surviving is one daughter, Sharon Sorrells of Rocky Mount; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren; two brothers, Michael G. Sams of Mount Jackson and C. Steven Sams of Covington; one sister, Debra Ruth Simmons of Glasgow.
A graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Green Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Butch Grow officiating.
Pallbearers will be Jason Sams, Buddy Sams, Reggie Deane, and Rob Carpenter.
Memorial donations may be made to the Glasgow & Natural Bridge Rescue Squads or the Rockbridge Area SPCA.
Arrangements are being handled by the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home, Buena Vista, Virginia.
