Obituary for Jacques (Jack) Talbot Jacques (Jack) Talbot
U.S. Army Veteran Was Bronze Star Winner

Jacques (Jack) Talbot, 88, of Glasgow, passed away September 3, 2009.

He was born April 9, 1921 in Jersey City, New Jersey.

He is survived by his wife of 58 year, Harriet K. Talbot; two daughters: Nancy Manion and her husband, Roberrt of New Jersey; Barbara Wright and her husband, Harry of Natural Bridge Station, Virginia; a son, John Talbot and his wife, Marie of Madison, Wisconsin; his sister, Alice Sofin of Fairfax, VA; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Jack was a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Army as a Sergant, and saw action in the North African Campaign, the Italian Campaign, and landed with the 1st Division in Normandy, France on D-Day.

He was a holder of the Bronze Star.

Jack was employed 25 years by Dun & Bradsteet in New York City before moving to Virginia in 1971. In 1972 he joined the Rockbridge County Health Department, State of Virginia, and retired from there in 1983.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 5, 2009 at the Falling Spring Presbyterian Cemetery with Rev. Brian Weger officiating.

The Harrison Funeral Home and Crematory will be handling the arrangements.
