Robert (Snooks) Houston Stinnett, 60, of Buena Vista, died Monday, September 14, 2009 at his home.

He was born November 22, 1948 in Lexington, the son of Marshall "Squirrel" H. Stinnett and the late Cecil Henson Stinnett.

Mr. Stinnett was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was employed by C.W. Barger & Son for 20 years.

He served four years in the United States Marine Corps during Vietnam and received two Purple Hearts.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Shirley W. Ramsey, and sister-in-law Judith R. Wilmore.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Margaret Ramsey Stinnett; two daughters, Tammy Leigh Stinnett and fiance Stacy Taylor; and Claira "Katie" Ramsey; one sister, Linda S. Barger and husband, Joe; one brother, Randy Stinnett and wife, Debra "Puddin"; one granddaughter, two nieces and two nephews, a great niece and a great nephew, all of Buena Vista. He is also survived by a brother and sisters-in-law, Sharon R Sorrels, and family, Jonathan Ramsey, and family, Carla R. Young, and family, Joel Ramsey, and family, Bruce Ramsey, and family, Jimmy Wilmore, and family; father-in-law, Lyle Ramsey. A funeral service will be held Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel with Pastor Michael Pettry and Elder Alvin Coleman officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at Bolling, Grose and Lotts Funeral Home, Buena Vista, and at any time at the home, 88 Cody La. Buena Vista, at any time.
