Alice L. Sheppard Lang, age 54, of 1606 Oak Hill Avenue, Clifton Forge, died Friday, September 18, 2009 at Alleghany Regional Hospital, Low Moor.

She was born March 21, 1955 in Roanoke, Virginia.

She was involved in the CAYA Community Ministries.

In addition to her father Randolph L. Sheppard, she was preceded in death by a brother, John R. Sheppard.

She is survived by her husband, Oscar L. Hunt of Clifton Forge; her mother, Hazel M. Taylor Sheppard of Clifton Forge; two daughters, Jennifer Lynn Barlow of North Carolina and Jessica Ann Sheppard of Clifton Forge; a son, Ronald W. Sheppard of Clifton Forge; five sisters: Connie Faye Sheppard of Alexandria, Jacqueline M. Stafford of Dale City, and Doris M. Tickle, Debra Sue Radar, and Brenda Gale Radar, all of Pembroke; three brothers, Randy Lee Sheppard of Clifton Forge; Paul Wayne Sheppard of Roanoke, and Garry L. Sheppard of Clifton Forge; two grandchildren, Brandi Barlow and Robbie Barlow; seven nieces, Michelle Sheppard, Christina Lampkin, Tammy Guiterrez, Kelly Dye, Angel Stafford, Ashley Stafford, and Destiny Anderson; four nephews, Garry Sheppard, Jr., David Sheppard, Michael Sheppard, and Joshua Stafford; and one great niece, Mariah Jeselle Azenas.

A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Alfred Dearing officiating. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum of Alleghany Memorial Park, Low Moor. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home.
