Donald (Duck) Lyle Chittum, 84, of Buena Vista passed away Monday, September 21, 2009 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Born May 24, 1925, he was the son of the late Donald Scott Chittum and Rebecca Wiseman Chittum.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Francis Stinnett Chittum.

Mr. Chittum was the owner of the Central Lunch Restaurant, and was a former Lexington Police Officer.

He is survived by his daughter, Laney Mason and her husband, Calvin; his granddaughters: Jessica Mason, Anita Mason, Tina Lewonski and husband ,Ron; agreat grandchildren: Jacob and Rebecca Lewonski; a sister, Uvon Lawhorne; and special friends: Eddie Armstrong, Jeff Whitten, and Amanda Deidium.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday September 24, 2009 at Bolling, Grose and Lotts Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Butch Grow officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Wednesday September 23, 2009 at the funeral home.
