Marjorie (Donald) Tenney, 83, of 24 Woodland Dr., wife of Dr. Malcolm Tenney Jr., died Monday, October 12, 2009 in Augusta Health, Fishersville, Virginia.

Born August 29, 1926 in Rockbridge County, she was a daughter of Walter Ruff and Nettie Ovela (Smith) Donald.

She was a homemaker, and a dedicated wife and mother.

She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church.

She was preceded in death by four sisters: Gladys Showalter, Dorothy Campbell, Virginia Donald and Kathleen Donald; and a brother, Walter Donald.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are three children: Malcolm Sanderson "Sandy" Tenney and his wife, Harmony of Staunton, Linda Ann Tenney and her husband, Stacey Baker of Middlebrook, and Sarah Jane Tenney Sayre and her husband, Mark Sayre of Churchville; a sister, Mae Durham of Rockbridge County; eight grandchildren: Abby Rochelle Tenney, Haley Marie Tenney, Jesse Silas Baker, Cameron Schuyler Baker, Brooke Ann Sayre, Holly Shea Sayre, Hannah Marie Sayre, and Virginia Leighton Sayre; and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday in Thornrose Cemetery, Staunton, with the Rev. Reed Hopkins officiating.

The family will receive friends at the residence immediately following the service.
