Obituary for Meredith Stuart "Mutt" Tingler, Sr. Meredith Stuart "Mutt" Tingler, Sr.
Worked With Branch Highways In Construction

Meredith Stuart (Mutt) Tingler, Sr., age 81, of 136 Plecker Drive, Millboro, Virginia, died Friday, November 20, 2009 at his residence.

Born June 17, 1928 in Alleghany County, Virginia, he was a son of the late Leck Lee Tingler and Emma Kimberlin Tingler.

He was a construction worker for Branch Highways and a member of Midway Community Christian Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Bradley Tingler in 1989; a sister, Helen Richmond, and seven brothers, George Tingler, Robert Tingler, Paul Tingler, William "June" Tingler, Billy K. Tingler, Tavner "Tab" Tingler, and one in infancy.

He is survived by two daughters, Brenda Cervanka and husband, Chuck and Robin Law and husband, Ralph, all of Charlottesville; a son, Meredith S. "Muttsy" Tingler, Jr. and wife, Lisa of Millboro; a sister, Christine Schettino of Covington; eight grandchildren, Stacy Patterson and wife, Leann, Stephanie Patterson, Heather Demers and husband, Jason, Jennifer Law, Stuart Tingler and girlfriend, Emily Burks, Bradley Tingler, Madison Tucker, and Demi Legg; six great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A graveside funeral service was held on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in Mountain View Cemetery, Clifton Forge with Reverend Mike Fisher officiating. Interment followed. There was no formal visitation. Friends may call at any time at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge or at the residence, 136 Plecker Drive, Millboro, VA.
