Obituary for Katheryne Tindall Hundley Katheryne Tindall Hundley
High School Teacher Also Served As VHC Executive Secretary

Katheryne Tindall Hundley, 84, of Lexington, Virginia, passed away on November 24, 2009.

She was born on December 10, 1924 at Hatton-on-the-James in southern Albemarle County.

She was graduated from Longwood College (then Farmville State Teachers' College) and taught high school in Front Royal, Scottsville, Blacksburg, and Natural Bridge.

She married Louis R. Hundley in 1953 and they moved to Lexington in 1956.

She worked at Mead Oriental Rugs and was the executive secretary for the Director of the Virginia Horse Center for many years.

She was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church and was a founding member of the Town and Country Garden Club.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Elizabeth Duncan and a brother, James Tindall.

She is survived by her husband, Louis Hundley; her daughter, Mary Louise Hunt and son-in-law, Mark Hunt; her sister, Virginia Schilder and brother-in-law Thomas Schilder; and three nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Borden Rehabilitation Center at Kendal and Rockbridge Area Hospice for their compassionate care during Katheryne's last months. The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Rockbridge Area Hospice.

The family will receive visitors from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, November 27th at the Harrison Funeral Home. Interment will take place on November 28th at 1:30 p.m. at Stonewall Jackson Cemetery with a Memorial Service to follow at 2:00 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Lexington.

Arrangements are being handled by the Harrison Funeral Home and Crematory, Lexington, Virginia.
