Ronald Wayne Fitzgerald, 66, of Buena Vista, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 25, 2009.

He was born August 12, 1943 to the late Marvin M. Fitzgerald and Sarah W. Fitzgerald.

He was predeceased by a sister, Barbara Drumwright, and a brother, Wallace Fitzgerald.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 46 years, Geraldine L. Fitzgerald; two sons, David W. Fitzgerald and wife, Cynthia; Stuart W. Fitzgerald and wife, Donna, all of Buena Vista; one daughter, Debra F. Lynn and husband, Robert of Vesuvius; one sister, Ruby F. Whitten of Fairfield; one brother, Phillip M. Fitzgerald of Millboro; nine grandchildren: Brandon Fitzgerald, Ashley Fitzgerald, Sheena Davis, Brittany Fitzgerald, Kara Fitzgerald, Stuart Fitzgerald, Jr., Brandon Beverly, Bobby "Bo" Lynn, and Jonathon Lynn; four great grandchildren, Jayden, Madison, Zoey, and Cameron; special friend, Carnes "Chip' Mason, Jr. and a special canine companion "Andi".

Funeral services are set for 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at Bolling, Grose, and Lotts Chapel with the Rev. Donald Thorne and the Rev. W. David Bain officiating. Burial will follow at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, November 30, 2009 at Bolling, Grose, and Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Buena Vista, VA.
