Obituary for Pauline Rogers DePriest Pauline Rogers DePriest
Was Retired Equipment Operator For Fowler Construction Co.

Pauline Rogers DePriest, age 78, of 1303 Dolly Ann Drive, Covington, Virginia, died Monday, December 7, 2009 at Alleghany Regional Hospital in Low Moor, Virginia.

She was born on May 8, 1931 in Alleghany County, Virginia, a daughter of the late Hezry Clayton Rogers and Elizabeth Keyser Rogers.

She was a retired construction equipment operator for Fowler Construction Company, a member of the Women of the Moose Lodge Chapter 911 of Covington, and a member of Central Advent Christian Church.

She was a loving mother and grandmother.

In addition to parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Ira Thomas Depriest, Jr.; two sons-in-law, Emmett Montgomery and Bruce Mundy, Sr.; a grandson, Bruce Mundy, Jr.; three great grandchildren; a niece, Betty Lou Rader, and her former husband, Ira DePriest, Sr.

She is survived by six daughters, Linda Jean Tucker and husband, Michael of Covington, Ella Sue Montgomery of Covington, Mary Ann Provost and husband, David of Eagle Rock, Patsy Faye Tingler and husband, Rodney of Covington, Tamara Kay Fridley and husband, Bobby of Covington, with whom Mrs. DePriest made her home, and Joy Dawn Fridley and husband, David of Covington; three sons, Donald Lee DePriest and wife, Teresa, Billy Grey DePriest and wife, Stella, and Roger Dean DePriest and wife, Patricia, all of Covington; two sisters, Frances May and husband, Berlin of Hot Springs and Rose Young and husband, Robert of Covington; a brother, Donald Rogers and wife, Shirley of Hot Springs; thirty-one grandchildren; forty-nine great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews and special friend, Connie Redman.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, with Reverend Louis Dodd officiating. Interment will follow in Central Advent Christian Cemetery, Clifton Forge. Pallbearers will be Robert Fridley, Jr., Roger Dean DePriest, Jr., Joshua DePriest, Donald DePriest, Jr., Michael Tucker, Jr., Stacy DePriest, Wayne Montgomery, and Matthew DePriest. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home.

The Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, Virginia, is in charge of arrangements.
