Obituary for Carolyn S. Gay Carolyn S. Gay
Well-Known BV Citizen Was Active In Her Community

On December 9, 2009, Carolyn S. Gay of Buena Vista, Virginia entered into her eternal home.

She was born in Sycamore, Virginia on November 9, 1941.

She was the daughter of the late Denver Lee and Eunice Dalton Simpson.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Coy Wayne Simpson and Grady Ray Simpson.

Carolyn attended Radford College and was active in many civic organizations. She was secretary of the Electoral Board, an honorary member of and active volunteer for the Buena Vista Rescue Squad, past chairman of the Rockbridge Area Occupational Center, was one of the founders of the Buena Vista Jaycettes, and was a member of the Buena Vista Junior Women's Club and the Buena Vista Women's Club. Carolyn was also an active member of the Republican party.

She is survived by her husband of forty-four years, Robert "Bob" D. Gay; sister-in-law, Dolores Simpson; nieces and nephews, special friends J.D. and Sarah Dickinson, and many other friends.

Memorial services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 12, 2009 at Bolling, Grose, and Lotts Funeral Home with the Rev. David Bain and the Rev. James Grimmer officiating. Private interment will be held in Green Hill Cemetery. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

Memorial donations can be made to the Buena Vista Rescue Squad. Arrangements are being handled by the Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
