Obituary for Daisy Mays McDaniel Daisy Mays McDaniel
N.B. Baptist Church Member Dies

Daisy Mays McDaniel, 94, of Natural Bridge, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 2, 2010.

Born March 19, 1915, she was a daughter of the late James E. and Pearl Knick Mays.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J. Leslie McDaniel; sisters and brothers, Evelyn McElroy, Kathleen Shannon, Lucy Wright, John Mays, Carl Mays, Clarence Mays and James Mays.

Mrs. McDaniel was a member of Natural Bridge Baptist Church.

Surviving are a daughter, Peggy M. Fowler and husband, Charles of Natural Bridge; a son, Jerry L. McDaniel and wife, Carol of Gallatin, TN; grandchildren, Lorri F. Thompson, J. D. Fowler of Natural Bridge, John McDaniel, Gallatin, TN; great grandchildren, Austin Dixon, Taylor Dixon, MaKayla-Jo Thompson, D. J. Fowler, all of Natural Bridge; Chelsea, Courtney and John McDaniel of Gallatin, TN; one sister, Dorothy Wills, Virginia Beach; sisters-in-law, Ruth Mays, Hazel Mays and Margaret Mays all of Lexington; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at 2 p.m. in Harrison Funeral Chapel with Rev. George Warden, Jr., Chaplain to Havenwood and Pastor Randy Smith. Burial will follow in Natural Bridge Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations be made to the Gideons, P. O. Box 942, Lexington, VA, Natural Bridge Baptist Church Perpetual Fund, Natural Bridge, VA or Rockbridge Area Hospice, 315 Myers St., Lexington, VA 24450.

The family would like to thank the staff and especially Bill and Nancy Wade and family for the loving care they showed our Mother during her stay at Havenwood. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
